FQHCs, free and charitable clinics, and rural practice sites rely on dedicated volunteers who give their time, skills, and compassion to strengthen the health of their communities. TCWD is proud to celebrate and support these individuals—and the sites that uplift them.
This project is funded through a grant by the State of Tennessee.

$2000 AWARD
Practice sites must have 500+ volunteer hours in 2025 to be eligible for the award. (January 2025 - December 2025)
Application & Approved Uses
This funding is designed to support, recognize, and strengthen your volunteer workforce. TCWD encourages award sites to reinvest these dollars directly into volunteer engagement through activities such as:
- Volunteer appreciation events
- Equipment or tools that assist volunteers in performing their service
- Swag or recognition items that celebrate volunteer contribution
Additional Funding

Additional $500 for sites that have 250+ hours of clinical student rotations and/or high school shadowing opportunities.
Volunteer of the Year
Volunteers are often the quiet heroes of community healthcare. The Volunteer of the Year Award shines a light on those whose dedication, generosity, and service help strengthen Tennessee’s clinics and rural practice sites.
Nomination Process
Awarded sites from Part One may nominate one individual for “Volunteer of the Year.”
Selection & Awards
- TCWD will select four (4) Volunteers of the Year statewide.
- Each selected volunteer will receive a $250 award in recognition of their service.
Application & Announcement Timeline
- Application Period: March 1, 2026 – March 15, 2026
- Application Sent To: Only the practice sites awarded in Part One
- Awardees Announced: March 26, 2026
